There’s no official word from Apple yet, but Apple support says iPhone 4 yellow tint problem is “residue from manufacturing”. An iPhone 4 owner Pat Cain reportedly called Apple and support told him that it was residue from the manufacturing process and that they rushed the shipments out to hit deadline. Apple support also states that it’s just because the residue is not dry and it should be clear up within a couple of days.

Other reports show contradicting solutions where Apple employees are saying to bring back the iPhone 4 to be swapped, adding that they have tons of replacement phones in-stock.

There is a problem with the iPhone 4′s Retina displays: Some screens have a yellow tint across its surface. Over 30 cases and counting. In some, it’s a yellow band. In others, yellow spots. In some, it’s a yellow band. In others, yellow spots.

Customers are being told they are going to have to wait for replacements do to the large demand. You’ll just have to wait a few days to a week  to exchange your pee stained iPhone 4.

Those holding out hope of getting a white iPhone this month, prepare for disappointment. Apple says that the white model won’t be available to users until the second half of July. It turns out the devices have “proven more challenging to manufacture than expected,” and therefore they are being delayed for at least half a month.

If you pre-ordered your iPhone 4, congratulations! You might be getting it as soon as now. If you didn’t preorder, though, you’re going to have to wait until June 29th to get one from AT&T.

It’s certainly not surprising that the date’s been pushed back, particularly given what a mess the pre-ordering system was and that they sold out in less than a day.

In the meantime you can head over to Wal-Mart, RadioShack and Best Buy locations on June 24th and try your luck there.
